Moab 100 final preps!

The Moab 100 is 10 days away but the last few days a very hectic. I have to work 5 days in a row, get done working on wed morning go to airport & pick up my father then load up everything in the car & leave thursday morning (Plus sleep in there somewhere). The drive west on I70 hopefully will be ok but there was a rock slide & rocks the size of semi-trucks hit a bridge & took it out. Good thing about it the bridge has two sides & one lane both ways are getting through. My wife & kids took a emergency trip home so I am left here in Colorado to take care of myself. Today it is almost 70 degrees & I went on a short hike but an 12 hour run would've been great but with Moab 10 days away i'll save my legs. I got all my stuff out to load up after my hike because I won't be needing them again. I laid all my clothes, shoes, & misc stuff out on the floor trying not to forget anything. I made out a list before hand to help me.

The grey slippers in this pic are a life saver after running for 100 miles I will wear them for 3-4 days afterwards until my feet will take shoes again. Nice comfy slippers after a 100 mile run "Priceless"!

This is my blister kit, from taping my feet before the race to pooping blisters during the race to removing nails during/after.

The weather is supposed to be Hi- 57 & Low-35 but as i have learned in the past bring clothes for all four seasons. Plus the two pairs of shoes will let me have a break from one pair during the race.

Well the only thing missing in those pics where food right? My food will consist of 2 bags of chewy choc chip cookies, 4 cans pringles, 6 choc milk, 12 choc/strawberry ensures, 1 whole pizza, and whatever the race offers. No this is not a normal day of eating for me of course but when running a 100 mile race i'll burn 75% of my body weight per mile roughly, 170lbs x .75 x 100 miles= 12750 calories. Plus all of this food won't be consumed but my body will tell me what I am craving. I will hopefully be able to replace 1/2 of those calorie during the race then afterwards i'll eat everything in site & that is where my HUGE steak dinner me & my father will have will come into play. Well hopefully everyone will enjoy the weekend coming up, for me it is mine to work but my house is supposed to get lots of snow so the running would've been fun anyways right?
Have fun everyone, Stephen!
