Well I have been off for 8 days & my wife had to work for 6 days straight. Well it was a bummer but a good time for me to train my ass off while not missing time with her or kids. I put in more than 25+ hours running/hiking/snowboarding in those 8 days capping it off w/ a 7.5 hour hike yesterday on my favorite trail the Colorado. I hike 28 miles in those 7.5 hours the trail is very steep/rocky/snow covered. The trail I took i've always wanted to hike but never had time to do it. It has 7700 ft of elevation change, a very hard trail in the summer but the winter w/ 2 ft high snow drifts it was a killer hike. Every time I get a chance to get out & run I think a lot about my family/friends I wish everyone I know could see the sights w/ me. The beauty of the outdoors in Colorado is great. Also the little stuff you see on the trail is also an experience, the most interesting thing I saw on that day was the bottom of a deers leg, it was from the knee down. I picked up the frozen leg trying to figure out what had ate it & if it might still be around. Well it was frozen stiff so my thought was it had been eaten sometime earlier but there where a lot of BIG tracks in the snow at times all along the trail. I usually wear my ipod but when I see signs of BIG animals that could possibly eat me, then they get turned off & my ears open up. Well my run went great until the last 4 miles when my food had ran out & my body was calling me a f-ing idiot, but oh well I made it back to the truck in one piece. Live & let learn about the food to bring it is always a learning experience. Well everyone please find time to take a walk/hike outside so you can also experience life for yourself, anyway i'm off to run,
Peace Stephen!
