A new direction for my running!

While i am taking some time off from running i've been researching some other runners that are not only having fun running but are doing it for a good cause raising money in the process for something they believe in. Since my wife & i work as nurses we see a lot of people in need. I think raising money to help out these people would be something we could give back. My wife & i usually help out one family at christmas time with a few gifts that hopefully brings joy if only for that one day. My goal would be to receive donations for my runs to help out the needy families. So here is my plan, I will sign up for numerous 100 mile runs & individuals can donate money toward the cause. Donations can be given per miles i run or a lump some. The main race i will run this year is a 200 mile relay called the Wild West Relay. It takes runners from Ft. Collins to Steamboat Springs along the roads in Colorado. Usually runners sign up on teams of 3 - 12 runners & tackle the race. I would like to follow-up Will Laughlin from last year & run it solo. Will Laughlin raised money for a charity in Kenya & he finished the race in a great time of 57hrs 53 minutes. Hopefully in the process i can raise some funds to help out needing families at the Children's Hospital of Denver & Aurora Medical Center. Well before i go i would like to challenge everyone who reads this blog to give to a charity/family this holiday season & help everyone have a good holiday season.
